Shashi's Story, page 1

This is story about a character of mine in the Dragon Crest universe. Quick lexicon for the uninitiated:

• Wolffen = race of wolf-like humanoids
• Rakasha = race of cat-like humanoids (c.f. Rakshasa in D&D)
• Pyresti = fire elves
• Kindari = war elves
• Kothite = an immortal race that rules the great Kothite Empire; also used to refer to their lackeys that may not be of the Kothite race
• Viscount = noble title overseeing multiple provinces or city-states, often the head of an entire colony
• Governor = commoner title, the head honcho of a province or city-state
• First Advisor = commoner title, second-in-command to the Governor
• "Prepare to die!" = the announcement that you are activating a Death Strike, a skill which kills in one blow
• Multiple deaths = in Dragon Crest, one can die and be resurrected multiple times with a random chance to die permanently; thus it is not unusual for the law to sentence you to multiple deaths
