Experience

Developer at a company in the Financial industry (name withheld for privacy reasons) • Fort Worth TX • March 2008 to present

At this firm, I work on a team devoted to one of the company's consumer-facing web sites used for extending short term loans. The company uses agile methodologies to deliver features on a rapid basis. When I started, I hit the ground running and quickly established myself as a leader and a mentor amongst the other developers.

My typical duties include:

Developer IV at RealPage, Inc. • Carrollton TX • January 2006 to March 2008

At RealPage, I was a member of the software team which develops consumer-facing products for large multi-family housing management companies. It is a small and dynamic team, one of the newer additions to the company, so I was faced with many challenges on a daily basis on how to implement new procedures and juggle a variety of responsibilities. My typical duties included:

Some example additional contributions of note:

Web Developer at H.D. Vest (Wells Fargo) • Las Colinas TX • September 2005 to December 2005 (Contract)

At H.D. Vest, I was brought to do several different tasks to help them update their expansive extranet site (about 6000 content pages and 100 applications) from a classic ASP and circa 2000 design to a brand new .NET framework and updated look and feel. I worked in a team with six other developers and one other designer, migrating the old non-standards-compliant site to an XHTML 1.0 strict layout and re-integrated and rewrote several classic ASP applications. The site is a private extranet used by independent investment advisors and financial planners partnered with H.D. Vest. Key skills used:

Senior Technician at Tiny Cat Computers / Tommy's Low Cost Computers • Arlington TX • January 2003 to August 2005

At Tiny Cat Computers, I was not afforded the luxury of any one singular title. It was a small, growing company, and I had to wear many hats to keep technical operations running smoothly. A sample of my responsibilities included:

Director of Interactive Services at Optymize, Inc. • Plano TX • March 2001 to January 2003

At Optymize, I lead the technical and creative implementations of several client projects, which include web sites typically developed in HTML and ASP using Microsoft SQL database back-ends as well as printed brochures, letterheads, and business cards. My responsibilities included:

Senior Interactive Developer at Stonebridge Technologies • Dallas TX • July 2000 to March 2001

At Stonebridge, I developed several client websites mostly in HTML and ColdFusion. I worked closely with the creative directors to interpret their designs for the web. My responsibilities included:

Senior Web Developer at Parkland Health & Hospital System • Dallas TX • April 2000 to June 2000 (Contract)

At Parkland, I did all of the development side of maintaining and building web sites for internal clients. Most of the work was done using HTML, ASP, and ColdFusion. Back ends were mostly Microsoft Access and SQL databases. I also answered the technical webmaster emails. My responsibilities included:

Senior Web Developer at Beckett Interactive • Dallas TX • September 1999 to January 2000 (Contract)

At Beckett Interactive, I started alongside another developer and together we developed the Beckett Marketplace, a large e-commerce site for bringing sports collectibles dealers from their own brick and mortar stores directly to Internet sales. My particular areas of expertise in this project focused on search capabilities, navigation, and checkout procedures. My responsibilities included:

Web Developer at Phones For All, Inc. • Addison TX • May 1999 to September 1999

At Phones For All it was my responsibility to co-develop web interfaces for the company's intranet programs with the Sr. Web Developer, utilizing Microsoft's ASP technology and VBScript. These projects include items such as corporate directories, order and provisioning systems, customer service, ILEC relations, and other applications vital to the operations of the business. My responsibilities included:

Chief Interactive Technologist at Integer Dallas • Dallas TX • January 1999 to April 1999 (Contract)

Integer Dallas, a marketing and advertising firm, hired me to fill the position as the lead programmer in their Interactive Division, the part of the agency which handled client's online needs. My responsibilities included:

Junior Web Developer at VarTec Telecom, Inc. • Lancaster TX • September 1998 to January 1999 (Contract)

VarTec hired a Sr. Web Developer and me to come in and take over the corporate intranet and internet web site projects. Most of the work involved creating web sites for corporate products and services from scratch. My responsibilities included:

At Over the Moon Productions (a software company subsidiary of computer manufacturer Gateway, Inc.), I was part of a quality assurance team that tested the Destination II multimedia software called DestiVu. My specific area was system integration and environment, or specifically how well the software interacted with Windows 98 and other applications. I also tested DVD titles for compatibility with the DestiVu software.
